What We Do

Alleviation therapeutic taping is a fully mobile service that can be carried out in the comfort of your own home, office, work place or sporting facility. Certain assessments may require the use of a therapy table to check muscular functions, which is part of the mobile service and takes seconds to set up. Alleviation therapeutic taping is fully insured to meet the needs of all environments and patient types.

We like to carry out a 48 hour follow up either via telephone call or email to ensure full satisfaction of the service and answer any questions.

Sports Introduction

Now used by a wide range of athletes and sports professionals to improve their sporting performance, prevent injury, aid quicker recovery and rehabilitate injuries.

Kinesiology tape can be worn during any sport or exercise and can even be worn whilst swimming.

Kinesio For All Sports

Unlike other sports strappings, supports and braces (which are non elastic and wrapped tightly around injured muscles or joints to restrict the normal range of movement). Kinesio tape with its unique micro grip adhesive and 100% elastic cotton patented wave form allows full range of movement during sporting activity. Almost identical to human skin in both thickness and elasticity, which allows Kinesio tape to be worn without binding, constricting or restriction of your movement.

Kinesio tape applications generally last for 5 days allowing the therapeutic benefit to continue for 24 hours a day and will last intense exercise and daily showering. Kinesio tape can facilitate a weak muscle, help to rest a tired or aching muscle and even offer joint support if needed.

Whether you’re a runner, squash player, rugby player or horse rider Kinesio taping can help with most injuries and sports related conditions.

Alleviation therapeutic taping can help with acute soft tissue injuries and bruising, muscle strains and weakness, ligaments injuries, poor muscle tone, joint maltracking and instability, limb and joint swelling and poor posture.

ALLEVIATION therapeutic taping can help to relieve pain from these injuries and all of the following common football, squash and cricket injuries/conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Kinesio Tape is designed to be worn for 3-5 days. An hour after application it will withstand athletic activity and showering without coming off. The water resistant type should be used for hands and feet and it is also useful for people who regularly take part in sporting activities.
There are no physical differences between the coloured tapes, Some professions use them as a form of colour therapy, however they all work in the same way.
Kinesio Tape is made from cotton with a hypoallergenic acrylic adhesive. It contains no latex or medications, decreasing the likelihood of skin irritation. Individuals with extremely sensitive skin, however, may still experience rash, itching or irritation. Remove immediately if any irritation is noted!
Remove tape in the direction of hair growth, which is usually away from the centre of the body on the trunk, and in a downward direction on the arms or legs. To minimize discomfort, press the skin at the end of the taped area while gently peeling tape back. Tape that is still strongly adhered to skin may be loosened by soaking with baby oil, vegetable oil for 5-10 minutes before removing.
Kinesio Tex Tape is made from a very thin, porous, 100% cotton fabric. It has a medical grade heat-activated adhesive. It is non-medicated and latex free - making it very skin friendly.
Without getting too technical, the tape is applied over the affected area with the muscles in a stretched position. Then the tape is applied from one end of the muscle to the other with very little to no stretch on the tape itself. The tape is applied from the ORIGIN to INSERTION of the muscle for SUPPORT and from INSERTION to ORIGIN for REHABILITATION.
Without a doubt, the technique is the most important aspect in achieving the greatest therapeutic results. But the full benefits of the Kinesio Taping Method were not possible until Kinesio Tex Tape was developed. The Kinesio Taping Method requires a tape that is patient and skin-friendly, possesses optimum elastic qualities, is the same thickness as the skin, and is durable enough to stay on for multiple days, even through sweating and showers.
• 100% High Grade Cotton – for comfort and air-permeability • 140% Elasticity – same flexibility as human skin and muscles • Heat Activated Adhesive – very light, mild, and hypo-allergenic • 100% Latex Free • Air permeable, microscopically lifts the skin, channels away moisture • Durable – average usage allows 3-5 days per application
Kinesio Taping can work well for children, even young children. However, it should only be applied under the guidance and advice of a trained practitioner and it is very important to be aware of fragile or sensitive skin. Take extra care when removing the tape and test on a small area before applying applications for longer periods of time.
Kinesio Taping for sports injury and physiotherapy should only be applied under the guidance/advice of a practitioner. Effective and successful results will only be obtained by applying the correct taping applications for a specific condition. We recommend that anyone interested in using the tape on there own to speak to a certified Kinesio taping practitioner.
